I was a teenager living in Lebanon during the civil war. My mom had a sewing machine and taught me how to use it. Summer days were when I let my imagination loose and started making kitchen towels with matching aprons, baby dolls, lacy slippers and anything that could be made from the fabrics and trims that my aunts and the ladies in the neighborhood collected for me.
My passion for design and fashion was immense and my dream was to study interior decoration. Unfortunately the war prevented me from realizing that dream and I found my self studying business instead.
Apparently my destiny was to marry the love of my life, a Lebanese American and move to the USA. He held 21 patents in his field , manufactured and designed luxury high end hot tubs.
I worked in every department in the factory and learned immensely.
In 2013 I was appointed by the US secretary of commerce as a District Export Council for The Inland Empire. As one of many other DEC members, our job was to help and encourage other manufacturers in the area to export.
My business connections and expertise were growing and so was my passion for fashion and design. My husband and I loved to entertain, our house was always decorated to host chic and elegant events. I was always asked the same question “where do you find these beautiful pieces ?’
Whether it was my jewelry, my outfit, my accessories, my plates, my painting, etc…. Friends, employees and business connections always asked me the same question.
In December 2021 my beloved husband suddenly passed away.
Two years later I decided to retire. That’s when I was invited with my son to a wedding In San Miguel De Allende Mexico. In an effort to forget my sorrows and the black that I wore for many months, I contacted a designer in Lebanon and custom made a red dress for the occasion.
The dress was a great success. The compliments were pouring. I still remember how I was singing at 2 am in the morning while my son was taking dozens of photos of me strolling down the streets of San Miguel in my flamboyant red dress.
That’s where the idea of Labels By ME was born.
I asked myself why can’t I offer this dress to a lady in Mexico? In Dubai? In Greece ? I can travel the world, shop for unique designs and offer them on a platform on line where anyone can buy them from the comfort of their home or office.
I stayed in San Miguel a week after the wedding and met so many talented designers. The idea was solidifying. I can help these designers sell everywhere around the globe !
Shortly after, I visited Lebanon where creativity and talents are found in abundance. From perfum, to clothings, home accessories, paintings, etc….I was blown away by the beautiful items I found.
So I created a team of professionals and Labels By Me was officially born.
Our mission is to connect designers with shoppers around the globe.
Fashion isn’t about owning an item it’s about enjoy it and feeling special when we have it.
We promise to search every corner of the globe for unique pieces and make earth one small market where we can all sell and buy items made with passion and love.
